SFD Firefighter Awards Ceremony Celebrates Heroic Bravery 

SAVANNAH (Aug. 28, 2023) – The Savannah Fire Department (SFD) is proud to honor its best and brightest for outstanding service and heroism in 2022 at the annual SFD Firefighter Awards Ceremony, scheduled for next week.  

Each year, employees who make the most significant contributions to the department are nominated by their peers to receive top honors. In addition, a number of units will be rewarded for their heroic actions last year and several promotions will be announced.  

This year’s ceremony will be held at the Savannah Cultural Arts Center on Tuesday, Sept. 5 at 1 p.m.  

Media are encouraged to attend and asked to RSVP by Sept. 4.
