City monitoring potential flood risk

SAVANNAH (Nov. 5) – The City of Savannah is preparing for tomorrow's forecasted extremely high tide. Due to the high tide and anticipated rainfall, the city has made its flood alert webpage active out of an abundance of caution. Though only coastal flooding is anticipated, residents and media can access any road closures that may be necessary at savannahga.gov/floodalert.

Due to the threat of coastal flooding, the city is advising the public to avoid parking on River Street. Additionally, the westernmost parking lot on River Street is closed through Saturday evening due to its higher flood risk.
