[ARCHIVED] Residential Sanitation Collection Suspended on Monday

Due to expected impacts from Tropical Storm Isaias, the City’s Sanitation Department will suspend residential collection on Monday and follow a modified schedule for the rest of the week, pushing collection back by one day.

The Dean Forest Road Landfill will be open until noon; the Bacon Park convenience center will be closed. The Dean Forest facility will reopen on Tuesday and Bacon Park convenience center will reopen on Wednesday as it is typically closed on Tuesdays.

Street Cleaning and most commercial collection will also be suspended; downtown compactors will be serviced early Monday morning.

Key items to note:

  • No sanitation collection services on Monday.
  • Secure your carts and other potentially windblown objects for Monday; do not place these at the curb.
  • Services with resume one day after the regular published schedule.
  • Vegetative waste collection may be further delayed due to storm impacts.
