Bolton Street Stormwater Rehab

Update 6-17-2019

Liner is installed and cured.
Upstream opening is open and the downstream end opened but not complete.
Waldburg is open and East Broad is planned to open Tuesday / Wednesday.
Bolton street is closed for about 200 feet on the East Broad end.

Update 6-13-2019

Gwinnett at E. Broad is open to east-west traffic tonight

Waldburg at E. Broad is open to east-west traffic tonight

The contractor is planning to remove the PVC pipe currently stretching across Gwinnet St at the railroad underpass tonight. They will also remove the pump at the intersection of E. Broad and Gwinnett. This will open up Gwinnett to east-west traffic by tomorrow morning if not tonight. Pumps should be removed at Waldburg and E. Broad this afternoon, opening this intersection as well. The goal for having E. Broad open is Monday.

Update 6-12-2019

As of this morning there is no standing water in the intersection of E. Broad and Waldburg. Waldburg is passable for cars and trucks. Both City pumps are running at the lift station to drain the underpass at Gwinnett. A contractor added one additional pump at the intersection of E. Broad and Gwinnett. The intersection is still passable to the north and west, however the underpass remains closed.

Update 6-11-2019

City contractor brought in two additional boilers to speed up the curing process. As of this morning, the temperature was hot enough to start the liner chemical reaction that will harden/cure the liner. Smoke may come out of catch basins in the project area, including a block or two to the north and south. This is actually steam and a result of the curing process. The intersection of Waldburg and E. Broad is passable at this time in the east/west directions.

Update: 6-10-2019

  • 6-14-19 Friday:  Liner curing process complete; we can then begin opening up the liner for flow.
  • 6-15-19 Saturday:  Gwinnett underpass open and pumps at East Broad and Waldburg removed.
  • 6-17-19 Monday: East Broad and Bolton opened and all equipment removed.
