About the Department

The Recycling and Litter Services Division provides residential curbside, community drop-off site, and commercial recycling services to residents and businesses located in the City of Savannah.  The division also provides support for special event recycling, litter collection and public education and outreach programs to encourage solid waste reduction, increase proper recycling and prevent litter.

The Recycling and Litter Services Division ensures all curbside recycling carts are emptied as scheduled and all recycling drop-off sites are conveniently located, accessible, and meet the recycling needs of the community. The division ensures that all major arterial and rights of way are provided litter control services at least once weekly.

Needs Assistance Program

Savannah residents 65 years and older may request assistance with their weekly trash and recycling pickup. If approved, residents with no abled body persons residing with them can place their cart at their backdoor where it will be collected, emptied, and returned. Subject to approval.
