St. Patrick's Day FAQs

Things we are asked about the most

Is there a festival?

No. There is no longer a permitted festival. This decision was made in 2021 by the Mayor and Council in an effort to get back to the family atmosphere of the St. Patrick's Day parade. We do however expect a very busy weekend in our social and nightlife districts, so please party responsibly.

There will be no entertainment, bands, stages, alcohol sales, or vendors on the public rights-of-ways. Please take this opportunity to patronize our many local establishments.

Will there be out-of-town party buses?

No. The City is not issuing permits to any out-of-town motorcoaches during the weekend.

Will you be selling wristbands?

No.  There will be no outdoor entertainment and/or food and alcohol sales, so there will be no wristbands sold.  We encourage you to patronize local businesses!

Will there be food trucks?

Yes. There will be food trucks at several locations in the celebration area. You can see some of these locations here.

Can I take part in the “Land Rush” in the squares?

Yes, but please check out the land rush info here.

Can I walk around with a drink south of Forsyth Park?

Yes. However ONLY on Friday, March 17th. This is when the To-Go Cup Zone will be extended out to Victory Drive.

Can I have a picnic in a square?

Yes.  Parade-goers are encouraged to enjoy the day with their friends and family.  You are responsible for removing all of your trash.  Please help us keep our squares beautiful and clean.

What happens if a child gets separated from their family?

Snap, Save, Share - take a photo of your children on parade day in the outfit they are wearing so we can share this image quickly!

What if I lose personal property?

All lost property items will be brought to the Command Post on St. Julian and Montgomery Streets.

What happens if my car is towed?
