KEY PARTNERS

This project is in collaboration with multiple City departments, Bike Walk Savannah, Tide to Town, and Chatham County.

GOAL

To provide safe transportation and connectivity opportunities for residents with limited or no access to motorized transportation options, promote human health through active recreation, reduce carbon emissions and improve local air quality.

TRUMAN TRAIL

Truman Linear Park Trail Phase I (Police Memorial Trail) has been constructed which begins at Daffin Park (a 77-acre city-owned park) connecting to the 1.5-mile Daffin Park Loop Trail and ends at the intersection of 52nd Street and Bee Road.

When fully constructed, Phases I and II of the Truman Linear Park Trail will be will approximately 6 miles long and link 827 acres of existing city and county parklands in Chatham County by connecting the County’s Lake Mayer Community Park, aquatic center, soccer complex and ball fields to City’s Bacon Regional Park and Daffin Park. Including the loop trails at Lake Mayer and Daffin Park, the completion of Truman Trail Phase II-B will provide almost 9 miles of contiguous ADA accessible, off-road/shared-use path for recreational use by residents and tourist.
