What’s your parking plan?

After a long two years without a parade, Savannah is looking forward to the return of one of our greatest traditions, the St. Patrick’s Day Parade.  The 2022 Parade will be held on Thursday, March 17.  The Parade begins at 10:15 a.m. following celebration of Mass at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. 

 ON-STREET PARKING & ENFORCEMENT


Thursday, March 17, parking is prohibited on the parade route and in the marshaling areas, vehicles will be towed at the owners expense.  Savannah Police Department will tow vehicles parked in the prohibited zones and parade route beginning 6:00 am on Thursday, March 17.  


  • Meters & Times Zones will not be enforced Thursday, March 17. All other parking violations will be cited. 
  • Meters, Times Zones, and all other parking violations will be enforced Friday, March 18, Saturday, March 19.
  • Warnings will not be issued for citations issued on St. Patrick’s Day. Park properly to prevent a citation and/or removal of the vehicle (do not block streets or lanes/alleys).  Lock your car.

PARKING GARAGES & VISITOR CENTER PARKING LOT

Customers will be charged $25.00 upon entering the parking garage, you will receive a numbered ticket to display on your dash.  Please present your ticket to the attendant upon existing the garage.  

Special Notes 

  • Tailgating from vehicles & loitering in the garage is prohibited. Grilling is PROHIBITED in all City facilities & lots.
  • Smoking in the garage is PROHIBITED.
  • Glass bottles/containers are PROHIBITED in the garage and on the street. 
  • The City of Savannah assumes no responsibility for loss through fire, theft, collision or otherwise to the car or contents.

  • Visitors Center Parking Lot –Vehicles not displaying a pass will be cited. 

  • Visitors Center Parking Lot - 301 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.  14 RV parking spaces available.  Space for RV’s available at this location only.

  • RV parking is by permits ONLY. $25.00 per day per space used.  Please Park properly to avoid being cited. Please put ALL trash in the trash receptacles. Grilling is PROHIBITED in the parking lot.

St. Patrick's Day/Weekend Taxi Rates 2022 

(Temporary Rates)

Taxis - St. Patrick’s Day/Weekend 2022 Temporary Rates

 

Zone A- $5.00 per person - The areas bounded by the Savannah River to the east curb line of Pennsylvania Avenue/Skidaway Road, to the South curb line of Victory Dr. (To Go Cup Zone)

 

Zone B- $10.00 per person - All other areas outside of the To Go Cup Zone regardless of the pickup and drop off points.

 

Drivers have the option to run their meter in lieu of charging the St. Patrick’s flat rate, more specifically for your regular customer. Allow your regular customers the option.

 

Authorized Rate Changes will be valid from 12:01 A.M.  Thursday 3/17/22 thru 6:00 A.M.  Sunday 3/20/22 only.  Anyone found operating either before or after this time will be subject to a $500.00 fine.

Motor Coaches 

This year the City has suspended the issuance of any out-of-town motorcoach parking permits in the To Go Cup Area from Thursday, March 17 through Sunday, March 20, 2022.This provision will not apply to local transportation service companies that provide shuttle services.  These companies must register with the City of Savannah and will be required to provide, at a minimum, routes and pick up and drop off locations and times.  For additional information about ST. .Wreckers  

Towing for the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade will be Thursday March 17, 2022.  Each company may send up to 2 trucks for this special assignment. All other head-outs will continue as normal through E-911 dispatch. Please respond via email to confirm participation. Specifics on the location and time will be sent out upon your response. Please email cpelote@savannahga.gov no later than noon Friday, March 11, 2022

            

Pedicabs 

Will be allowed in the to go cup zone on streets that are not closed by SPD.
