Savannah Youth Ambassadors
SYA LogoThe Savannah Youth Ambassadors Program fosters youth leadership and civic engagement through City-sponsored training, cultural exploration opportunities, and Make a Difference community impact projects.

SYA SUMMER INSTITUTE OVERVIEW
Savannah Youth Ambassadors participate in leadership development sessions and hands-on activities that encourage personal, social, and civic development. Guest facilitators present on topics such as team building, active listening, diversity, public speaking, conflict resolution, environmental sustainability, social media, and much more. SYA explore various neighborhoods, civic, academic and cultural institutions, and participate in Make a Difference community impact projects. In 2017, participants will also host the first annual Savannah Youth Conference. 

PARTICIPANT CRITERIA

Participants will be chosen through a selective application process and must meet the following requirements:
  • Be a Rising 9th – 12th Grader as of Summer 2017
  • Be a City of Savannah Resident (Applicants should check this map to make sure that they live within Savannah City Limits)
  • Have Access to Reliable Transportation
  • Provide Copy of Most Recent Report Card
  • Provide One Teacher Letter of Recommendation
  • Complete the Application and Upload Supporting Documents by 5:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 30, 2017

SYA SUMMER INSTITUTE SCHEDULE
SYA Summer Institute is held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9 A.M. to 2 P.M. at Armstrong Atlantic State University and various locations throughout the City. The program runs for four weeks, from June 6 to June 29, 2017.
