About the Department
The Department of Cultural Affairs is responsible for ensuring that a variety of quality artistic, cultural, and heritage-based opportunities are available and accessible to the citizens and visitors of Savannah.

Americans for the Arts’ Arts & Economic Prosperity 5
The City of Savannah Department of Cultural Affairs worked with 45 nonprofits to collect data for the Americans for the Arts’ latest national economic impact study, Arts & Economic Prosperity 5. Our participation in this important research project has allowed us to quantify the economic impact of the arts and culture industry in the greater Savannah area. We all know that our industry supports jobs and generates government revenue. We have received a final report that tells us just how many jobs and how much money we represent!
