Public Works & Water Resources

About the Bureau

The Public Works and Water Resources Bureau is divided into two main focus areas that both promote the health and safety of our community. The first focus is the protection and wise management of our water resources. We provide our customers confidence that the drinking water is safe and the water that is used is put safely back into the environment to be used again. The second focus is the complex movement of people throughout the community. The public rights of way are intended to both safely and efficiently move vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists.

The public rights of way and green spaces contain one of the most critical elements of our bureau, the urban forest. Our urban forest works 24-7, cleaning our air and water, providing cooler temperatures, and sustaining our urban wildlife. We protect and manage our urban forest to keep it healthy and working for us. Together we make a complete and vital team proudly serving this City.
