Building and Electrical Maintenance
About the Department
Building and Electrical Maintenance is responsible for maintaining 138 City buildings, all of the Leisure Services Bureau facilities (parks, playgrounds, swimming pools, and athletic fields) in a safe and user-friendly condition for the citizens of Savannah. This responsibility entails the development and administration of a scheduled maintenance plan as well as a capital development plan.

Maintenance Division
The Maintenance Division is responsible for maintaining and preparing all of the Leisure Services Bureau sites (59 parks and playgrounds, nine swimming pools, 41 athletic fields, and 15 community centers). This division is located at Grayson Stadium in Daffin Park (1401 East Victory Drive) and can be contacted at (912) 351-3845.

Building Structures Division
The Building Structures Division;
  • Provides support to the City Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) Committee for the five-year budget preparation
  • Conducts investigations and condition surveys
  • Prepares construction cost estimates and reports
  • Provides design for building construction (including maintenance and repair), either in-house or by consultant
  • Manages the procurement process in coordination with purchasing
  • Inspects and manages the construction by contractors and provides technical support to other City departments for structural engineering and architecture

Building Maintenance Division
The Building Maintenance division is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and renovating 138 City buildings. This division is located at the Gwinnett Street City Lot (702 Stiles Avenue) and can be contacted at (912) 651-6599.
