Office of the City Manager
The City manager is responsible for:
  • Carrying out the policies and programs established by City Council
  • Recommending the annual budget and work programs
  • Appointing bureau and department heads
  • Exercising general supervision and control over all employees of the City

In all, the City manager is responsible for management of eight City bureaus, comprising some 2,500 City employees. The City manager is one of three positions appointed by City Council. The other two are City attorney and clerk of council. The City Manager is Stephanie Cutter.
