Business tax certificates for vendors interested in post-storm clean-up efforts
The City’s Revenue office, 132 East Broughton Street, will be open and take applications for Tax Certificates starting Tuesday, October 11. Hours are 8:15 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Phone number is (912) 651-6450.

Businesses located within Georgia but outside of the City of Savannah, not setting up a physical location within the City of Savannah, need to have the tax certificate issued by their local jurisdiction.  A City of Savannah tax certificate will not be issued.

Businesses located within Georgia but outside of the City of Savannah, that do not have a tax certificate from their local jurisdiction, will need to obtain a local tax certificate.  The business must present to the City Revenue Office, 132 East Broughton Street,  evidence of any required documentation such as a state license; food permit; etc.; and a completed application.  The information will be entered into Govern to set up an account, businesses will pay tax based on estimated gross receipts.  A City of Savannah tax certificate will be issued.

Businesses from out of state, serving a single customer and not setting up a physical location, no City of Savannah tax certificate is necessary.  

Businesses from out of state, planning to serve multiple customers, must present to the City Revenue Office, 132 Broughton Street,  evidence of any required documentation such as a state license; food permit; etc.; and a completed application.  This information will be entered into Govern to set up an account, businesses will pay tax based on estimated gross receipts.  A City of Savannah tax certificate will be issued.
