Your home or business doesn’t have to look fancy. Its exterior just needs to be in good shape structurally and free of deferred maintenance. Some examples of deferred maintenance include peeling paint, missing or damaged gutters, broken windows, damaged roofing or chimneys, damaged porch or steps, and siding that shows signs of neglect.
All vacant buildings must be structurally sound and secured in a manner to prevent unauthorized entry.
A person shall not occupy as an owner-occupant or permit another person to occupy any premises that are not safe and sanitary. Some examples include broken wiring or fixtures, leaking plumbing pipes, damaged walls or flooring, unsanitary conditions or signs of pests.
Storage buildings are permitted on rear or side yards only and must be maintained, structurally sound, and kept in good repair.
