  • Police Administrative Services and Training Building  - $10.8 million
    The City is constructing two critical facilities for Police on a 9-acre site donated by the federal government off Mills B Lane Blvd. The Administrative Services Center opened in 2013, and houses the police department’s budget office, administrative services division, quartermaster unit, gang unit, and the property and evidence room.  A police training facility on the same property will begin construction in the fall.
  • Thomas Square Fire Station - $2.7 million
    The two-story station, located at 33rd & Whitaker Streets, includes three bays for apparatus, an SCBA fill station for re-filling firefighters’ air packs, and a decontamination room. It also has a multi-purpose room, office space, conference rooms, interview room and secure evidence storage. The second floor is the living quarters for the two dozen firefighters assigned to the station. It includes a dormitory, kitchen, bathrooms and shower facilities, and a computer room.
  • Public Safety Video Surveillance$1.3 million
    With 360-degree panning, extra-tight zooming and web-based monitoring from anywhere in the city, this network of surveillance cameras helps solve as well as deter crime in public areas throughout Savannah.

The new $1 million Fire Training Facility will replace aged, temporary facilities. All new firefighter recruits will complete their training at the facility. The facility, which includes a burn building, tower and natural gas props, will be used for live fire training, rope and high altitude rescue training, and a variety of required certifications such as pump, hose and ladder testing.
