The Department of Cemeteries has had a solid ongoing partnership with the Bonaventure Historical Society since the group organized in 1994. The nonprofit organization is dedicated to the evolution and preservation of the historical significance of Bonaventure Cemetery. Volunteers from the Society operate a Visitors Center in the foyer of the Bonaventure Administrative Building and provide historical information to cemetery visitors on Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Society has also produced a brochure which is available in their donation box located in the foyer and publishes a regular newsletter with well-researched historical information.
