Cemetery Drainage Improvements
Storm drains from Section N and around the entrance of Bonaventure Cemetery were replaced with appropriate fixtures to improve drainage into Placentia Canal. Historically significant, 250-year old live oak trees were preserved during the construction process. The asphalt roadway over the new system was replaced. An eroded portion of the Wilmington River Bluff in Greenwich Cemetery was also stabilized with rip rap installed on the slope to protect the bluff from natural elements. This was the final phase of a multi-year project.
