    Gallery S.P.A.C.E.: Exhibitions

    Gallery S.P.A.C.E.

    Gallery S.P.A.C.E. is a community exhibition space. The gallery is host to approximately nine shows per year. Exhibitions range from youth and solo shows to group and traveling exhibitions. Each exhibition includes an opening reception and an outreach program which enriches the learning experience for our visitors. Shows on display are free and open to the public. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with occasional night and weekend hours based on programming. There is free off-street parking in the lot adjacent to the building.

    Artists who are interested in exhibiting at Gallery S.P.A.C.E. may download the exhibition proposal application below. We are currently accepting proposals for the 2010 exhibition schedule.

    November 9 - December 11
    3rd Annual National Arts Program

    Opening reception: November 10, 5-7 p.m.

    This November, the City of Savannah will be hosting its 3rd annual exhibition in conjunction with hundreds of other municipalities throughout the U.S. Last years exhibition was a great success, with close to 100 works being submitted by City employees and family members from all eight bureaus. Artwork displayed in the exhibition ranged from painting and drawing to photography, ceramics, woodworking, quilting and mixed media.

    City employees and their family members are invited to submit original artwork for consideration in four artistic classifications: Amateur, Intermediate, Professional and Youth. The program is free and open to all employees and their family members. Artwork submission mediums include painting, works on paper, sculpture, photograph, craft, and mixed media. Cash prizes will be awarded for 1st – 3rd place in each artistic classification.

    Registration and submittal of artwork will take place the week of October 26 – 30. The exhibition will be on display from Nov. 9 – Dec. 11 at the City’s Gallery S.P.A.C.E. The opening reception and awards ceremony will be held on Nov. 10 from 5 to 7 p.m.
