June Episode of City Span Now Playing On SGTV

SAVANNAH, GA (Jun 4, 2018) — Savannah Government Television (SGTV) has launched the latest edition of City Span. The magazine-style news show features in-depth stories about the City of Savannah.

This month City Span brings you the kickoff of the 2018 Summer 500 program which provides jobs and education to local high school students. City Span also highlights the SPLOST (Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax) project in Windsor Forest. Arena Development Director Pete Shonka presents a full tour of the Arena/Canal District as part of the Congress for the New Urbanism conference held in Savannah.

On City Span this month, get to know Earl Coxon who’s dedicated his life to coaching and mentoring our area’s youth at the Frank Callen Boys & Girls Club.  Now he’s a Greater Savannah Athletic Hall of Famer. See his interview after the induction ceremony exclusively on City Span.

Also on City Span this month, we’ve got two public safety stories. First, there’s a new Hands-Free law.  Watch the feature to see the do’s and don’ts while driving with your cell phone. Additionally on the safety side, the Fire Safety House is getting a makeover. Get the inside view at its new look.

On this month’s City Span we’ve saved the best for last. Watch Matthew Wirth debut his new feature, “Dirty.  City.  Jobs”, highlighting our unheralded City employees and the work they do.

Other stories within the all-new City Span include: Parking & Retail – Balance in Savannah, Police Memorial Day recap, Summer Rec Hours Extended, Brownfield Assessment Grant

New W.W. Law Exhibit, Hungry for History, Savannah Youth Council Graduation Wrap and a Bank on This episode featuring Online Banking.
