January Episode of City Span Now on SGTV

SAVANNAH, GA (January 9, 2018)— Savannah Government Television (SGTV) has launched the January edition of City Span.  The magazine-style news show features stories in and about the City of Savannah. 

City Span airs on Comcast Channel 8  weekdays on the 3’s, 7’s and 11’s (3 a.m. and 3 p.m., 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. and 11 a.m. and 11 p.m.)   You can also view City Span on our 24-hour streaming YouTube channel

This month’s show includes:

  • Break down of the balanced budget approved by City Council, which includes a tax cut and a new fire fee.  

  • News and notes from Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department . The demerger is moving along toward the February 1st date but residents and visitors can expect a “seamless transition” from SCMPD to SPD (Savannah Police Department).  The City will also have a new Chief in charge.  Joseph H. Lumpkin, Jr. announced his resignation before Christmas, he sat down with SGTV about developing the new “culture” in the department and how it affects the future of policing in Savannah.

  • Details on major changes in downtown historic district parking and mobility; it’s the full launch of Parking Matters in Savannah.
