The City of Savannah’s Sanitation Bureau has resumed normal operations. Today crews are back on their regular service routes, picking up residential refuse, yard waste and recycling materials.
On Wednesday sanitation crews focused on debris removal on City streets and sidewalks. They will begin debris removal at homes and businesses on Friday. Debris collection is projected to be five percent or less than what was collected post-Hurricane Matthew. Debris collection from Hurricane Irma should be completed in 4-6 weeks.
Residents can also drop off their debris at the City’s two Convenience Centers, the Dean Forest Road Landfill and Bacon Park Transfer Station.
