2018-2022 HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PLAN including 2018 ONE-YEAR ACTION PLAN and ASSESSMENT OF FAIR HOUSING (AFH)

All Savannah residents and representatives of non-profit organizations and community groups are strongly encouraged to participate in this public hearing on the development of a new five-year (2018-2022) Housing and Community Development Plan, the proposed use of the City’s 2018 Community Development Block Grant, HOME Investment Partnerships Program, and Emergency Solutions Grant funds to benefit the City’s low-income residents, and the proposed strategies and actions for affirmatively furthering fair housing.

DISCUSSION ITEMS

Public discussion on AFH-related data and affirmatively furthering fair housing in the City’s housing and development programs.

Public discussion on developing a new five-year plan and setting priorities for using about $20,000,000 in Community Development Block Grant, Emergency Solutions Grant, and HOME Investment Partnerships program funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development over the five year period.

Application process for eligible non-profit organizations to apply for 2018 grants. Only agencies that have an eligible program which will assist in moving families out of poverty will be considered for funding. Agencies must have their 501(c) (3) IRS non-profit determination letter to include in their application.
