Chatham Area Transit Authority (CAT)

Description:
Originally known as the Savannah Transit Authority (established 1960), the Chatham Area Transit Authority (1986) was established by the General Assembly of the State of Georgia in order to foster and assure the development of a mass rapid transit system within its territory.

Membership/Appointment:
This authority consists of nine members. The City of Savannah holds two positions, one for an Alderman and one for a resident of the City.

Min. Requirements:
Members must be City residents and users of the transit system.

Term:
One year
